Kinston School

Kinston School is located in the small town of Kinston, Alabama in the southwest corner of Coffee County. First established around 1900 as a one-room schoolhouse, it has grown to house 500+ students in grades K-12. Kinston School is one of four schools in the Coffee County School System. Known for its high academic success, Kinston School also has State Championships in Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball. A highly active Parent-Teacher Organization, Athletic Club and Kinston School Educational Foundation provide parental/community support for the school and students.

We are proud to be Kinston Bulldogs!

Our Mission

Kinston School is committed to providing students with a safe environment and a challenging yet developmentally appropriate curriculum.  Students are expected to be technologically literate, to be active members of the learning process, and are encouraged to become confident, self-directed, life-long learners.

Our Beliefs

Student learning is the chief priority for the school with students’ learning needs the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school.

Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.

A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning.

Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning.

Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process.

Students need to not only demonstrate their understanding of essential knowledge and skills, but also need to be actively involved in solving problems and producing quality work.

Gladly calling all our comrades,

Hopes and spirits high.

Reaching for the goal.

Open-minded we go forward,

Firm in heart and soul.

(Chorus)

We salute you, Alma Mater,

Name we hold so dear.

What you’re to be, you’re now becoming,

Growing year by year.
